Mobile Communications Center One of Blackford County Emergency Management's main goals is to have a redundancy for anything that is required to coordinate emergency response effectively and efficently. With this idea in mind we set out to design a redundant facility that could act as a back-up facility for our Emergency Operations Center. While another permanent facility would be sufficient our thought was that a mobile facility would be better suited for the job. A mobile facility is exactly what we got.
The Blackford County Mobile Communications Center is our back-up Emergency Operations Center. Anything the Emergency Operations Center is tasked with during an emergency situation the Mobile Communications Center can effectively and efficiently take over in the event the Emergency Operations Center is no longer available. Any tool that is available in the Emergency Operations Center is available in some form or another in the Mobile Communications Center. This trailer was purchased through funding made available through a grant from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Indiana Department of Public Health.
